RIGHTING THE WRONGS

There is a certain sense of melancholy in determining (either through the discovery of a problem or a general acknowledgment of a sustained sense of deterioration) that your home needs some exterior work done. Like finding out that your car is in need of major repairs, when your house shows signs of damage, one can almost see the time and money it would take to fix it blow away with the wind.

At Burbach Exteriors, we understand that there is an inherent difference between home renovation and home repairs. Renovation has a certain sense of adventure about it — a feeling of discovery and fun as you work with an architect to give your home a new look, and by extension, a new spirit. Repairs, on the other hand, are acts of necessity that often don’t come at a convenient time. There’s much more dread surrounding the idea of a repair.

No matter what type of work you’re looking to do, from replacing the siding of your Utah home to simply repairing the storm drains, we want the experience to be a positive one. Since so much of the stress and negativity can come from feeling powerless — either from a lack of understanding about the process or feeling a lack of control about what needs to be done — we want to arm you with all the tools and information you’ll need.

THE FIRST BIG DECISION

So, you’ve decided that the exterior of your house needs some work done. Perhaps you’ve discovered some issues while performing the annual inspection of your house and now you’ve got two big questions:

  • Is this something that I can take care of on my own?
  • When is the right time to involve a professional?

Finding the answer to these two questions is all about understanding yourself and your capacities right now. Perhaps you feel perfectly capable of taking charge of repairs but you don’t have time or you need to replace some important tools. Maybe you’d like to try the repairs first but you’re afraid of heights or you don’t have confidence in your level of experience.

Whatever you decide about actually doing the repairs, it’s likely best to contact us as Burbach Exteriors first so that we can at least give you a good quote and you can see what hiring a team will entail.

THE CONSULTATION

Once you call Burbach, we will set up a brief consultation with you at your home. We will have a few objectives for this meeting:

  • Inspect any damage that has occurred suddenly or over time (the weather in Utah can be hard on your siding or roof).
  • Listen to you about what your vision is for the home renovation or repairs.
  • Gather information to consult with our team leads and project managers.
  • Take a few photos to include in our presentation bid for your project.

This aforementioned presentation is all part of your free estimate, designed to let you know how much the project will cost, how long it will take, as well as give you a chance to see what your fully-repaired home will look like thanks to our proprietary visualization software.

THE TOOLS

On the subject of technology, the visualizer is a helpful tool that you can use yourself. Simply upload a picture of your house and browse through the services we offer. Here you can see some of our favorite styles of siding in Utah would look like against the rest of your home’s aesthetic, and much more.

You will also get to browse our own portfolio so that you can see some of the projects that we’ve completed recently. Throughout the planning process, you’ll have a chance to meet with a few key members of our team, including:

  • The project manager
  • The lead Installer
  • An exterior designer

These meetings will give you a chance to learn more about how we work and what we plan to do with your project. Our goal is to give you an opportunity to collaborate with us over the look and materials of your house — because it’s the Burbach way.

FINAL PREPARATIONS

Getting new siding for your Utah house, or any other type of home renovation, is a big step. Armed with experience and expertise, our team will work quickly, cleanly, and within your budget. We’ll even make the rounds to your neighbors to let them know what our schedule is if it is anticipated our scaffolding or trucks will be in their way.

As the process is underway, we’ll consult with you frequently to let you know how things are going and answer any questions you might have. Once the job is done, you’ll have final approval before we pack up our equipment.

At Burbach, we’re striving to bring the joy back into home repairs. Seeing all your plans fulfilled painlessly is the best way of accomplishing this and we can’t wait to work with you.
